Consciousness Awakens Passion
Universal Urge strikes
Vibrations move
When the drum calls
Hand to ancient skin
Repetition opens the portal
A River pours through
Light sends the seed
Images flow
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
From the invocation
Stars send forth their songs
Blood-red into the womb of life
Where Mother Earth conceives
Her child in warm Water
Consciousness is the Creator
Sensations innovate
A flood of images rise
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
In the beginning was the Word
And the Word was with/God*
And the Word was God
All shapes and forms
Adapt in this Mystery
In the playful pulsations
Of Sound and Light
Life’s Holy Amphitheater
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
I AM has arrived
Unravelling a new story
In which the Storyteller
The Telling and the Told
Fashion a new drum
To send out gratitude
To play for the stars
Reminding us who we are
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
Prag Gya Naam Brahm Ma
This ancient saying from the Vedas continues to inspire my creative journey through life. It is the first of four great ancient mantras. These are the ingredients of awareness that can lead an aspirant back home. Here is the introduction I was given. Now that I started a drumming practice, I feel a new relationship with this mantra and am passing it along to you dear reader. Feel the stars dance alive in you. Remember who you are. No one can tell you. It is an awakening into knowing... a quest. Listen to your heartbeat. It is the first drumbeat we discover in the wombs of our mother. Our hearts sings songs to each other filled with this knowing.
The following quote is from "Ancient Secrets of Success - The Four Truths Revealed" , by Tulshi Sen. Whenever my overactive attention span has sent my mind in too many directions, this Ancient Wisdom always centers me again, reminds me who I Am. I can close the many open tabs of the screen of my mind and come back to my journey and purpose. Here is the introduction to the mantra in my poem above.
Pragyanaam Brahman
“In the original text in Sanskrit it is “Pragyanaam Brahman, translated it means Consciousness is the Creator.
Pragyanaam means Consciousness. It is your Consciousnesness, my Consciousness and Universal Consciousness. There is only one Consciousness.
Brahman means the Creator of the physical manifested Universe. The word Brahman ends with a slight nasal intonation and the “n” is almost silent. The Universe is Brahman and the Universe is therefore Consciousness. Consciousness is the creative force and also, at the same time, the substance with which the Creation is manifested in its physical form.”
I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to live a more focussed and creative life.
