Women Awakening is Man's Power

Reviving Mary Magdalene: the Initiate and Teacher in Me

Revival of (Her)story

The moon priestess bride
holds the oil steady
The mystic orb half hidden
rises fully with the stars

She waits in the silence
The other half of the Heart
holding space
for the lost children

She never left the world
despite cruel banishment
where now the wailing crowds
cry for her return

The Christed One rises:
The Breath of Life
Restores her again
to the place of Unity

Sacred vessels overflow
There is singing all around
The moment is here
Listen to the waters

She slowly approaches
Wisdom and Mercy
flow abundantly
Forgiveness revives

What was torn away
returns to Wholeness
Wounds heal
Beauty blossoms

A new Vision is conceived
A new generation awakes
The call of Love
makes all things possible

This painting evolved slowly and meticulously... showering such beautiful thoughts and feelings into my creative flow.  When I began to re-imagine Mary as a powerful woman among women and men (inspired by the Gospel of Mary and the Gospel of Philip), something began to activate in me.  Jesus did love her very much and I'm sure that much of her active participation in their mission of Love and Freedom included many deep insights.  From the New Testament one almost gets the feeling that only men understood this Nazarene and I think that is crazy.  Mary, being so close to him would have had such access to profound and beautiful Teachings.  I choose to believe (as many do) that she was a moon priestess who initiated many women of her time.  From personal experience, I know how women inspire each other and I'm certain Mary could touch hearts wherever she went. This is my dedication to her and the elevated place she now holds in my heart.  When male and female energy achieve balance: A true place of power and possibility opens up.

When You Realize Who the Artist Is

The blues will sometimes steal your heart
Make you feel alone     apart
But grab some paint a brush or two
And let the color flow through you
Let the motions swirl and swim
Until you paint yourself back in
The lines and curves
The swish and splat
The rough    the smooth
the sharp     the flat
The highs     the lows
Just set them free
to take the shapes
they want to be
and as your hands
and eyes join in
your thoughts may sputter
swirl and swim
but now you’re caught
You’re painted in
Your heart engaged
Alive again
