Individual Consciousness Arises from Universal Consciousness

You Will Be What You Will to
Be...

Image:  Inspired by working with masks this year, the SongQuesting takes on a whole new level with exploring what the five senses perceive and what more there is to reach for.  The subconscious aspect of  "I" trickles more and more into awarenss.  Ever exploring this through art and music, these endless waves pour forth exquisite Joy and Gratitude.

Journal Entry Feb 24, 2017

In chapter 12 of  "Ancient Secrets of Success" is a poignant story of a lion cub raised by goats.  He's really convinced that he is a goat.  Everything he identifies with has been from the context of what the other goats experience.  What they eat.  How they talk, What habits they share.  When he meets a fellow lion one day, his whole world explodes.

It can't be described what that feels like.  Whenever excruciating pain would overwhelm my days, I would feel an ache that nothing could take away.  One day I began to discover why.  I was not what and who I thought I was.  There was so much more that no one ever told me about.  I know first hand what that little cub went though.

Wearing the lion mask helps me to enter into that experience and celebrate this story which activates itself again and again.  The lion on the hill represents the highest expression of Self and with great arms spread, invites aspiration to go higher than ever before.  That's the eagle on the top of the mask.  Limitless heights with the courage and tenacity of a lioness.  Something beautiful and unnerving awakens within.   The lioness recognizes the reflection of herself in the pond before her and roars with excitement.

My Teacher used to say "Isn't it madness to go through life without knowing the origin of your Cosnciousness?"  In art and music, there is an arena to stay vigilant and not become complacent about what is possible to experience in this magnificent life.  The lyrics to this beautiful song have always raised me to tremendous heights:

"You will be what you will to be;
Let failure find its false content
In that poor word, “Environment,”
But spirit scorns it and is free
It masters time, it conquers space;
It cows that boastful trickster, chance,
And bids that tyrant circumstance
Uncrown, and fill a servants place
The human will, that force unseen
The offspring of a deathless soul
Can hew a way to any goal
Though walls of granite intervene
Be not impatient in delay
But wait as one who understands;
When spirit rises and commands,
The gods are ready to obey"

~ James Allen, (taken from his book ‘As a Man Thinketh.’)
