Life Forged In the One Will

 

Thoughts Make Us...Thoughts Break Us

Out of the spining

Out of the fire

Out of the water

Out of the air

My life is forged

Smeared with thoughts

Which imprison freedom

Splashed with rare gleams

of expectant liberty

Pounded with painful

Tears of agony

Sinking downward

Into unknown forming wings

Which slowly rise upward

Annihilating all  definitions

Into mysterious oblivion

While still persistant

Hope sweats nervously in

Salt and blood-stained

Unbearable ideas

Disappointments

Fears

Disillusionment

Spinning round and round

Infused with thoughts of flight

Of phoenix possibilities

Of transcending

Of dancing millimeters

Above the despair

While the fire

And the water

And the air

Project a new earth

within a thought world

Of unending

Opportunities

Unleashing from

Default frameworks

Set in the stars themselves…

Let's Make a Promise To Ourselves

Every day we check the scoreboard

And the numbers overwhelm

Who has left and who is struggling

Who has won or left this realm

Sometimes its so unnerving

To see the numbers rise so fast

We contract and feel emotions

For the ones whose lives have passed

We think about and honor

The ones who show up yet again

As they stand in fear and duty

While their patients are in pain

As we sit in shock and safety

Staring at the lighted screens

We have the luxury to contribute

Far beyond our current means

For the ones who didn’t make it

For the ones who who risk it all

For the ones who suffer all alone

And no one comes to call

For them let’s rise and promise

Make the world a better place

See beyond the scorecard

And embrace the human race

We’re all in this together

And our bodies all will die

But now we have a chance to find

A deeper how and why

To honor all the suffering

and those who could not stay

Let’s make a promise to ourselves

To really LIVE each day

Love Hopes and Endures All Things

Let fear fall beautiful one

It is only a body inside you

Losing its shadowy dominion

Over your freedom

In this moment

As the entire universe holds you

With a love beyond

Your deepest imagination

That

Should you realize it

Your heart would cry an ocean

Of joy

Lift you above

The passing darkness

To be (t)here

Where there is no lack

No pain

No fear

No death

Lift your heart

And know it to be true

We are made for these times

We are here

Feeling the glorious height

and devastating depth

Of our own Beingness
